What is the Suzuki Method?
The Suzuki Method was created by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki who observed the ease with which children learned to speak their "mother tongue" (native language). The parent as the child's daily home teacher, daily listening to quality recordings, daily repetition ("10,000 times") and memorization became the foundation of the Talent Education Method. Dr. Suzuki's method is used to teach piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, flute, and recorder. The repertoire is graded and includes compact disc recordings. Many of the Suzuki music books and recordings have been revised and recorded anew. Teachers may use the method books and resources alone or may choose to complete in-depth training that can be registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA).
