A little about me...
I've been married almost 10 years to my wonderful husband who is a first grade teacher and also plays the Highland bagpipes and Scottish small pipes. We have 2 boys, and a baby girl joined the family in February of 2015. I'm teaching our 7 1/2 year old violin and our 3 1/2 year old often practices alongside him as well. Being both a Suzuki teacher and a Suzuki parent gives me an edge over other teachers--I know what parents are going through in getting their child to lessons, establishing a practice routine and sticking to it. I like to play games and teach my students how to practice so they know what they are supposed to do every day and will have fun doing it.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance (2007) as well as a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (2007) from CSUS where I was a student teacher in the String Project http://www.csus.edu/stringproject/index.htm. I have trained in the Suzuki Talent Education Violin Method (violin books 1-4), which requires an audition as well as many hours of classes, observations and written work. I have been teaching the Suzuki Violin Method since 2007. My Suzuki profile and credentials can be viewed at https://suzukiassociation.org/people/jennifer-campbell/
When I'm not teaching you will find me practicing, reading, writing, taking photographs, spending time with friends, and enjoying time with my wonderful family.
Feel free to contact me if you are interested in or have questions about lessons/classes for you or your child(ren). No violin is needed to start lessons, you are welcome to observe me teach, and the first trial lesson is free. Parents are encouraged to learn alongside their child. I charge by the half hour and hour. I am located in Sacramento and teach from my home. I do not travel to students homes.
I look forward to building a musical relationship with you and your child.
Musically,
Jen Campbell
